1.233 km of Water Prints

This work follows the journey of the Rhine River from its origins in the Swiss Alps to its vast delta at the sea. Along this course, the river’s water becomes a storyteller, carrying sediments, stones, and minerals, whispers of the landscapes it traverses.

The river is both a force of movement and a vessel of transformation, shaping and reshaping the world it touches.

The images presented are water prints, created using water collected from different points along the Rhine. These prints capture intricate details of the river’s essence, offering a close-up view of the microparticles and sediments flowing within it.

In contrast to its sister Project „Batu dan Banjir“ this work examine the river’s own materiality, its dynamic archive, highlighting the unseen elements that influence both natural and human histories.

Through these imprints, the river’s voice is made visible, revealing its ever-changing composition and continuous journey.
